Ways to Give

There are so many ways to make a positive impact on the life of an older person. It depends on what you want to accomplish. At WesleyLife, you can see a gift go to work immediately or make an arrangement that will have the greatest impact after your lifetime. Your gift can buy bricks and mortar -- or change someone’s life.  Regardless of the means you choose, you can be assured your gift will enhance WesleyLife’s mission of supporting the independence, health and well-being of older adults, wherever they call home.

Following are brief descriptions of ways you can support the WesleyLife mission:

Good Samaritan/Good Shepherd Fund

Gifts to the Good Samaritan/Good Shepherd Fund allow WesleyLife to honor a “promise” made nearly 70 years ago. The fund was established to give WesleyLife residents the security of knowing they can have a home and access to needed services, even if they deplete their finances. Donate Now.

Capital Campaigns

Unrestricted annual gifts can assist WesleyLife in creating new services or enhancing the lifestyle at existing communities. These gifts may be one-time donations or multi-year pledges payable over a designated number of years. One such gift by the Underwood family recently provided residents of Heritage House with a new 14-passenger coach that is broadening horizons. WesleyLife never would have been able to complete the construction of The Cottages at Hearthstone without the outpouring of more than $4 million in gifts from the Pella community. Our most recent campaign is raising $3.3 million to enhance expansions at both Halcyon House in Washington and Heritage House in Atlantic. Donate Now.

Estate Giving

Planned Gifts can take many forms. Ask one of our skilled advisors to help with the careful planning of estate gifts, in concert with your financial and legal advisors, to meet your philanthropic, financial and family goals. From bequests to trusts to beneficiary designations, planned giving allows your gift to support older adults long after your lifetime. Contact us to learn more about making a planned gift. Donate Now.

Memorials

Memorials honoring a departed loved one’s memory can give friends and family a way to share their sympathy while making a gift that has a profound, positive impact on the lives of others. Contact us for details on creating a memorial or making a donation to WesleyLife Hospice. Donate Now.

Meals on Wheels

Every day, WesleyLife Meals on Wheels drivers deliver hundreds of warm and nutritious meals to older adults in Greater Des Moines. In 2014, Meals on Wheels served 220,097 meals to 1,630 clients. Thanks largely to the generous support of our donors, nearly 85 percent of all meals are provided at no- or reduced-cost. In addition to the meal, drivers also perform a daily safety check and are often the only human interaction the client has during the day. Donate Now.

Volunteering your time

As a nonprofit, WesleyLife relies not only on generous donations of money but on gifts of time. Our mission is expanded every day by people who are willing to brighten the day of someone we serve. WesleyLife has many ways to volunteer.

Events

WesleyLife is grateful for the support of other organizations that see a fit between their goals and our vision of transforming the aging experience. A great example is the 2016 Cold Run for Warm Meals sponsored by the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Iowa Chapter. NAMA designated all proceeds of their event for WesleyLife Meals on Wheels. WesleyLife is honored to participate in events that raise awareness of aging issues, promote overall wellness and generate funds for the benefit of those we serve. Learn more about upcoming events.
