What is
Nourish Iowa?
Nourish Iowa encapsulates the experiences we create through our emphasis on access to affordable, quality foods for all – an existing area of focus in WesleyLife’s broad and comprehensive network of services. But for those with whom we come in contact, Nourish Iowa encompasses much more than making sure people can access healthy food to eat — although that’s certainly a key component.
"Nourishing" Iowa is something we do every day as we work to combat food insecurity and social isolation in older adults and veterans through WesleyLife Meals on Wheels. Our team delivers around 2,000 hot and healthy meals daily to Central Iowa, along with a friendly smile!
Located at our Meals on Wheels campus, the Prairie Meadows Hydroponic Farm grows leafy greens to add to the meals we serve to Meals on Wheels clients, in our WesleyLife communities, and throughout the greater community.

Meals on Wheels
Each weekday, our dedicated drivers and volunteers deliver hot meals, but that's not all. Our well-being checks, unique to WesleyLife, offer a friendly smile and a meaningful connection to help ease social isolation — and even save lives. Many Meals on Wheels clients live alone and see no one in the course of a day other than their driver.

Prairie Meadows Hydroponic Farm
Located on the lower level of our campus, the Prairie Meadows Hydroponic Farm — the nation's only hydroponic farm associated with a Meals on Wheels program — grows leafy greens without soil! A mix of water and nutrients produces fresh, delicious leafy greens and herbs to enhance the nutritional value of our meals and provide added nutrition to the greater community, as well.
