Happy 20 years; Meals on Wheels celebrates milestone! accent

Brian Joens MOWThis year, Meals on Wheels is proud to celebrate 20 years of service to older adults and neighbors across our community. Since our founding in 2006, the program has grown into the state’s largest non-profit provider of home delivered meals providing critical daily nutrition, well-being checks and human connection.

Over the past two decades, Meals on Wheels has delivered more than 4.17 million meals to 12,321 individuals, providing nourishment, independence, and dignity to thousands of older adults. This milestone is a testament to the hundreds of team members, volunteer drivers, past leaders, board members, donors, and partners who have fueled this mission and made every delivery possible.

This anniversary year also is a celebration of the people we have been fortunate to serve. Our clients, past and present, have shaped our work and inspired our commitment to ensuring every older adult can age well in place.

Throughout the rest of 2026, we will mark this milestone with a full year of storytelling, gratitude, and community engagement, including:

  • 20 Stories for 20 Years highlighting the clients, donors, volunteers, partners, and team members who embody the heart of our mission
  • Opportunities to give both time and treasure to strengthen our next 20 years
  • Moments of appreciation, including a special client perk day on July 1
  • A community celebration in early July to honor the past and energize the future

We invite everyone who has been part of our journey — from 2006 to today — to join this yearlong celebration.

Tell us how you have been involved during the past 20 years. Share your “why” on our Facebook page:

Whether you delivered meals, received them, funded them, or supported us in ways seen or unseen, your story is part of our story. We look forward to the next 20 years of impact!
