WesleyLife and its volunteer leaders have committed to address food insecurity, social isolation and the overall health and well-being of older adults and military veterans by expanding and enhancing the Meals on Wheels programming in Central Iowa.

Acquire and renovate the building at 3206 University Ave. to allow increased capacity for meal production and intergenerational social interaction.
Expand the Meals on Wheels commercial kitchen to increase meal-production capacity from 1,000 to 3,000 meals per day.
Improve the nutritious quality of meals by creating an indoor vertical garden in the lower level, growing fresh produce year-round.
Provide on-site programming in the second story of the building. These multigenerational experiences will build connections for young and older adults alike.

Meals on Wheels volunteers make a real difference in our community every day. Volunteer opportunities range from driving a Meals on Wheels route over the noon hour to checking with our participants by phone to make sure they're well and happy.
