For families navigating the final stages of a loved one’s life, hospice care is about far more than clinical expertise. It is about trust, compassion, communication, and the reassurance that someone will be there when support is needed most.
Families receiving care from WesleyLife Hospice say that support is making a difference.
WesleyLife Hospice has achieved a 4-Star Medicare Family Caregiver Survey Rating, reflecting feedback from families about their experiences with hospice care and the team members who provided it.
Meaningful recognition
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from the families we serve and reflects their experience with our hospice team during some of life’s most vulnerable moments,” Aimee Spores, pictured, director of hospice & palliative care for WesleyLife, said.
The most recent family satisfaction results also show that WesleyLife Hospice received an overall hospice care rating of 89%, while 90% of responding families said they would definitely recommend WesleyLife Hospice to others.
The results are based on 182 completed family surveys, representing a 31.54% survey return rate.
Hospice services bring together an interdisciplinary team to support not only individuals nearing the end of life, but also the people who love and care for them. That support can encompass physical comfort and symptom management as well as emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
Because family members experience that care firsthand through visits, conversations, questions answered, and support during difficult moments, their feedback offers an important measure of the hospice experience.
For Spores, the results reflect the work of team members across disciplines and the relationships they build with patients and families.
