WesleyLife CNA Program Graduates Inaugural Class accent

August 22, 2023 | By
CNA graduatesCongratulations to the FIRST graduating class of the WesleyLife Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program -- an immersive experience committed to clinical excellence so that we may provide the highest-quality services to those who place their trust in us.

Completing the state-approved training program and preparing to take their CNA exams are:
•  Lyric McKinney from Edgewater in West Des Moines
•  Haylee White from Park Centre in Newton
•  Autymne Simmons, also from Park Centre in Newton

WesleyLife Clinical Staff Educator Ann Head, MSN, RN, who conceived and leads the program, says she's pleased with the outcomes from the inaugural class.

"It is so very gratifying as a nurse and an educator to watch the students grow in confidence," Ann says. "I witnessed students prioritizing building relationships with the residents, and as those relationships developed over just a few days, the students gained insights into residents' preferences, needs, and wants.

"That led to trust, which is a game-changer for both the residents and the caregivers. That is what person-directed care is all about!"

The next class in accredited training programs runs October 9-27. The program is open to all, and a 70% tuition discount is available for WesleyLife team members. To learn more or enroll, contact Jessica via email at Careers@WesleyLife.org or by phone at (515) 322-2633.
