At WesleyLife, we believe well-being is ageless — and there’s no better place to see that truth come to life than at the National Senior Games. We're spending this week there, meeting athletes and guests in Olympic Village, housed in the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex in West Des Moines.
As proud sponsors of this year’s Games, we’re here to celebrate the athletes who are redefining what it means to grow older. These individuals — many of whom have competed for decades — inspire us daily with their strength, energy, and sense of connection to one another. "Watching competitors from across the country greet one another like old friends feels like I'm witnessing a high school reunion!" Molly Ernst, left, marketing coordinator for WesleyLife, says. Molly created the WesleyLife booth and its daily trivia and physical challenges, and she says she loves "the positivity and the willingness of our visitors to come and play with us."
"The physical challenges, which rotate through the week, are designed to do more than just test physical skill," Molly says. "Sure, there’s a bit of balance, coordination, and focus involved — but the challenges are about fun, laughter, and play, and creating joy!"Focused on play
Molly says one of her favorite challenges is one "where visitors balance a beach ball on the backs of their hands and see how far they can walk. It’s harder than it looks — and funnier, too!"
When visitors see the daily challenge listed, they often ask, "So what does this challenge do?" Molly says.
"They might think the challenges are focused on exercise, and that's true; we have ones that test your focus and fine motor control, for example," Molly says. "But our purpose at the booth is to have fun together, celebrating the competitive spirit of the athletes. We're about reminding each other that play has no expiration date!"
That’s the spirit we’re championing with our sponsorship of the Games — one where vitality, community, and purpose continue to grow with age. We're honored to support this incredible event and the remarkable people who make it so memorable. And we love that when someone wins one of our challenges, we have a podium in the booth that's a great prop for photos!
Enjoy these photos from the week so far — and if you’re at the Games, stop by booth #119 and have some fun with us!
