WesleyLife at Home - Newton brings home services to Jasper County

WesleyLife team members, Newton dignitaries, area health care providers, and local business owners gathered on the town square in Newton May 6 as Chamber of Commerce representatives welcomed the city’s newest business: WesleyLife At Home - Newton.

 

WesleyLife at Home leaders were on hand to greet guests, serve refreshments, and introduce WesleyLife services that will be offered through the new storefront, located at 122 First St. N. The grand opening celebrated WesleyLife at Home’s first brick-and-mortar greater-community expansion in over a decade.

 

Stacey Miller, executive director of WesleyLife at Home, says WesleyLife had been exploring growth opportunities in communities around the Des Moines area where WesleyLife already has a presence, and Newton immediately stood out.

 

The organization has served Jasper County for more than two decades through Park Centre-A WesleyLife Community, its community for heathy living located just up the street from the new WesleyLife at Home office.

 

“WesleyLife already is deeply ingrained in the community through general intake and referral relationships, so the fit was there,” Stacey (on the right, with chief operating officer Allison Pendroy) says. “The new office creates additional opportunities to expand services throughout Jasper County with a goal of becoming an even more active part of the community through home services and continued partnership with Park Centre.”

 

Services available through the WesleyLife at Home Newton office include home health care; non-medical in-home services such as cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, organizing, and assisting with pet care; and palliative care and hospice services. Tentative plans also include the sale of healthy greens from the hydroponic farm on the WesleyLife Meals on Wheels campus.

 

In addition, the office will partner with Park Centre for community engagement opportunities, such as lunch-and-learns and coffee conversations, Stacey says.

 

In their service to thousands of clients across Iowa, WesleyLife at Home team members coordinate with clients’ medical providers to ensure all care and services are in alignment. In many cases, insurance covers all or a portion of the cost of needed care and services.

 

WesleyLife at Home - Newton is staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If someone walks in with general questions, team members can connect them with the appropriate services and resources, Stacey says.
