Janet Simpson-ED 1-13-2015Janet Simpson, Vice President of Network Operations for WesleyLife, has been recognized as a 2024 McKnight's Senior Living Women of Distinction award winner! The national Spirit Award recognizes inspirational women in senior living who have have demonstrated bravery, courage, perseverance, dedication or determination in the face of adversity.

In addition to recognition for her decades-long commitment and dedication to WesleyLife, Janet is being honored for allowing the WesleyLife blog to chronicle her experience with an aggressive form of breast cancer, showcasing her compassion as she became a resource for others living with the disease.

Janet's experience in the face of illness was illustrated by her characteristic humility; she frequently took Zoom calls while receiving chemotherapy, and when colleagues would praise her dedication, she would respond, “We all have challenges. People don’t stop counting on me just because I have cancer.”

The McKnight's award marks the first Women of Distinction award for a WesleyLife team member. Congratulations, Janet, on this well-deserved honor!
