Beam signing enhances campus legacy accent

2022-08-31 14.32.27-4Thanks to our partners at Graham Construction Company, Inc., for organizing a truly moving event for residents and team members today at Wesley Acres in Des Moines.

As Phase I of our $25 million redevelopment initiative at that community grows closer to completion, Graham leaders organized a beam signing, allowing all in attendance to leave signatures, comments, verses, or wishes for the project on the last support beam to be erected.

2022-08-31 14.32.27-3After a brief presentation, resident Mary Anne Green was the first to pick up a Sharpie and sign the beam. WesleyLife President and CEO Rob Kretzinger followed closely behind, leaving with his signature the words of John Wesley: “Do all the good you can.”

Following the signing, a Graham crew hoisted and placed the beam. Said Damon Buskohl, Executive Director of Wesley Acres: “There’s a lump in my throat as I watch this all come together. There are a lot of hopes and dreams wrapped up in this project.”

2022-08-31 10.31.00Phase I of the project will conclude this year, resulting in the reopening of the Chamberlain Mansion and other gathering spaces designed to enhance well-being for all.

Thanks again to Graham and to all who attended the ceremony!
