An update on COVID-19, novel coronavirus
As our geographical communities in eastern Iowa and western Illinois begin to open up, WellSpire communities are proceeding with an abundance of caution to help ensure the health and safety of our residents and team members.
Per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Iowa and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines, we continue to allow only essential visitors into our communities at this time. Learn more about that decision, and if you have questions about whether or not to visit, please reach out to your contact at the community.
The Iowa Department of Public Health offers this comprehensive look at COVID-19. If you have specific questions or concerns, please contact your physician. Additional resources are listed below.
Thank you for helping us keep our communities healthy and safe.

In January 2019, WesleyLife and Genesis Health announced the creation of a new entity to serve older adults in the Quad Cities. That entity, WellSpire, is uniquely positioned to help older adults in eastern Iowa and western Illinois lead healthy, fulfilling lives that focus on purpose and well-being.
The name "WellSpire" explains who we are as we come together, and who we aspire to be as we move forward. The derivation of the name is:
- "Well": Healthy, in good health, robust, strong, vigorous, blooming, thriving
- "Inspire": Motivate, persuade, encourage, influence, move, stir, energize, incite
As a health and well-being organization, inciting residents, clients, participants, and team members to be mindful of their well-being is paramount to WesleyLife’s “why.” And the Genesis mission – “to provide compassionate, quality health services to all those in need” – is inherent in that component of the name as well.
What's Next for WellSpire?
We’re excited to announce WellSpire’s first contribution to the Quad Cities landscape: The Summit of Bettendorf, a brand-new senior living community to be located in Bettendorf. The campus is being developed southwest of the intersection of 53rd Street and Middle Road in Bettendorf and will feature services to meet a broad variety of needs, including:
- Independent Living
- Assisted Living
- Memory Support
- Short-Term Rehabilitation
- Long-Term Healthcare
- Well-being programming for individuals in and outside the community
The Summit of Bettendorf will also offer:
• 13+ floor plans; select the living space that's just right for you!
• Multiple dining options
• Winding walking paths and engaging outdoor spaces
• Unique and engaging architectural design filled with light and space, and gathering areas to connect!
We broke ground in fall 2019 for The Summit of Bettendorf, and we plan to open by mid-2021. To learn more, contact Erica at (563) 200-2484.
More exciting news: Fieldstone of DeWitt!
WellSpire is exploring a project to positively impact the quality of life of older adults in DeWitt and surrounding areas.
The group is in the planning phases of replacing Westwing Place in DeWitt with a new community that will offer Assisted Living, Memory Support, Short-Term Rehabilitation and LongTerm Care. The project is contingent upon the successful completion of a $5 million capital campaign.
The DeWitt Community Hospital Foundation will lead the capital campaign, and the foundation will engage the DeWitt community and surrounding area in the opportunity to support the development.
If the project moves forward, the name of the new community will be Fieldstone of DeWitt. The campus will be developed on a foundation of health and well-being designed to enhance the lives of its residents, clients, and team members, leaders said.
