WesleyLife Home Health has earned a 4-star Quality of Patient Care rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This important achievement reflects the skill, dedication, and teamwork behind the care the home health team provides each day.
The updated rating was published July 15 on Medicare’s Care Compare website, an official resource that helps clients, families, and health care professionals compare Medicare-certified providers.
A 4-star rating means WesleyLife Home Health performed better than average compared with home health agencies nationwide on the care practices and patient outcomes included in the rating. Most agencies receive three stars.
What the rating measures
The Quality of Patient Care Star Rating is based on patient assessment information and Medicare claims data. It examines seven measures, including whether an agency begins care in a timely manner and helps clients:
- Improve their ability to move, walk, and get in and out of bed
- Perform personal-hygiene tasks
- Experience less shortness of breath
- Organize and manage oral medications
- Decrease time spent in the hospital
CMS updates the ratings quarterly as new data becomes available. This quality rating is separate from Medicare’s Patient Survey Star Rating, which reflects feedback submitted by patients about their experiences.
Every team member contributed
A WesleyLife at Home leader says this achievement belongs to the entire WesleyLife Home Health team, reflecting the work of team members who care for clients, coordinate services, manage schedules, support operations, maintain accurate documentation, and oversee quality processes.
Elanna Fultz, director of quality for WesleyLife at Home and pictured here, says each home health team member deserves to be recognized for having achieved the rating.
"From the field to the office, whether you are providing direct client care, coordinating services, managing schedules, supporting operations, or ensuring documentation is complete, your contributions matter and have helped us reach this milestone," Elanna says.
"I hope all our team members take a moment to reflect on all they have done to help us achieve this rating. They should be proud of the difference they make each day and the quality of care they deliver."
A 4-star rating gives patients, families, and referral partners an independent measure of WesleyLife Home Health's performance, Elanna says. "It demonstrates that our team is not only providing compassionate care, but also helping clients make meaningful progress in their health, safety, and independence," she says.
