Ageism affects all of us, and changing the way our society thinks and talks about aging starts with challenging long-held stereotypes.

At WesleyLife, our vision is to be the most dynamic and inclusive champion to revolutionize the experience of aging. That’s why we were proud to join forces with the American Society on Aging earlier this month in recognizing Ageism Awareness Day and encouraging conversations that can help change the cultural landscape. Together, we can end ageism!

As part of our observance, we brought together a panel of residents, team members, and friends at Wesley on Grand in Des Moines to explore how ageism impacts everyone. Moderated by Julie Christensen, WesleyLife’s director of marketing and communications, with opening remarks from CEO Allison Pendroy, the discussion was filled with thought-provoking questions, insightful answers, and personal stories that challenged assumptions about growing older.

Enjoy photos from the event held earlier this month, then continue to watch this space as we share more about how you can join the fight to end ageism.
