Ground is broken for homes on Brio campus

What a special day for WesleyLife and Brio of Johnston, a WesleyLife Community! We celebrated groundbreaking on Tuesday, September 26, for Neighborhood 19 at Brio, the neighborhood of single-family homes and townhomes that will be added to Brio's campus.

 

Neighborhood residents-to-be, Brio residents, local dignitaries, and WesleyLife leaders took part in a program that celebrated the future of the Brio campus and honored the long-term relationship between WesleyLife and the city of Johnston.

 

“We thank WesleyLife for making the decision to move their organizational headquarters to Johnston so many years ago, and for giving the people of Johnston the wonderful gift of Brio,” Johnston Mayor Paula Dierenfeld told the crowd during her remarks. She also praised WesleyLife President and CEO Rob Kretzinger (pictured at left with the mayor) for his vision and leadership.

 

For his part, Kretzinger praised the ease of doing business with the city, and thanked Dierenfeld for her and the Johnston City Council's unwavering support of WesleyLife projects and initiatives.

"I've lived in Johnston for 30 years, and when we moved our Network Support Center here years ago, people said, 'Oh, he just wants a short commute!'" Kretzinger told the gathering with a laugh.

 

"I'm not going to lie - that's been a great perk! But the way the city is run, the way it is operated, was a big part of our desire to become a part of Johnston, and to build Brio here. Now, we're grateful to be adding to the campus."
