WesleyLife has named healthcare executive Michelle Gogerty, MHA, vice president of Home and Community-Based Services, bringing to the organization more than two decades of experience in healthcare strategy, operations, growth, and the development of services that help people remain healthy and independent in the places they call home.
Gogerty joined WesleyLife this week and will provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s growing array of home- and community-based services. Her background spans long-term services and supports, population health, disease and case management, behavioral health, value-based care, and partnerships among healthcare providers, payers, and community organizations.

State, national healthcare expertise
An Iowa healthcare leader with experience at both the state and national levels, Gogerty most recently served as principal of Gogerty Healthcare Consulting and previously was managing director at The Menges Group. Her career also includes leadership roles with UnitedHealthcare, Optum Behavioral Health Solutions, March of Dimes, and Iowa Health System, now UnityPoint Health.
Throughout her career, Gogerty has built and led programs designed to improve access, outcomes, and the healthcare experience. Her work has included creating a disease management, case management, and wellness program serving 30,000 people; developing a 24/7 nurse triage center serving Iowa and surrounding communities; and co-creating a national behavioral health value-based care program that grew to encompass 25 health plans and more than 100 provider organizations.

Gogerty holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration in leadership from Western Governors University, a bachelor’s degree in health and human services from Upper Iowa University, and an associate of applied science degree in medical assisting from Des Moines Area Community College.
