WesleyLife welcomes well-known industry name in human resources
WesleyLife is pleased to welcome Joeilynn "Joey" Leonhardt to WesleyLife as Senior Director of People and Culture.
Leonhardt comes to the organization with a wealth of experience not only in human resources for senior living, but in enhancing and maintaining organizational culture. Kristy VanDerWiel, Vice President of People and Culture for WesleyLife, said the organization couldn't be more pleased to add Joey to an already strong People and Culture team.
“We're happy to be adding an individual who brings not only extensive and relevant experience, but understands the 'why' of what we do what we do and can add energy and passion to that mission," VanDerWiel said.
Leonhardt most recently served as Director of Human Resources for the State of Iowa’s Judicial Branch. Prior to that role, she served as Vice President of Human Resources for Lifespace Communities, where she was deeply engaged in culture-building efforts. Other experiences includes human-resources leadership positions at Marsh and IFMC (now known as Telligen).
Leonhardt earned her bachelor’s degree in Business and Psychology from Upper Iowa University and is certified as a Senior Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She and her husband, Bill, live in Clive with their two teenagers, Will and Zoe, and their 4-year-old Great Dane, Tank.
