WellSpire, a health and wellness organization that will bring a new type of senior living to the Quad Cities, begins operations today (Monday, July 1).
The product of a partnership between WesleyLife and Genesis Health, WellSpire, announced in January, will strengthen a common mission to pave the way for older adults in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois to lead healthy, fulfilling lives that focus on purpose and well-being.
As WesleyLife brings its 72 years of experience and expertise serving older adults to Genesis Health System’s strong healthcare brand and existing senior living portfolio, the forming of WellSpire creates an opportunity for the joined organizations to serve senior markets in both states through a comprehensive health and wellness network.
Under the terms of the partnership, WellSpire assumes management today of Genesis Health System senior living campuses in DeWitt, Iowa, and Silvis, Illinois. The organization will break ground later this year for a new senior living community in Bettendorf, Iowa, that will feature a full continuum of levels of living with a focus on activity and vicacity.
When the partnership was announced earlier this year, Doug Cropper, President and CEO of Genesis Health System, said the affiliation would benefit the senior community by aligning a wide range of services. "The partnership positions the new organization to be the single solution in the region for senior services,’’ Cropper said. "We're excited to partner with WesleyLife, which shares our commitment to seniors and serving their needs.’’
Rob Kretzinger, CEO of WesleyLife, echoed Cropper's enthusiasm.
“The WellSpire brand is built upon the strength of two trusted organizations with a shared focus on health and well-being,” he said. “As we encourage residents and clients to live their lives with purpose and meaning, we’ll strive to remind older adults in the Quad Cities that the second half of life can truly be the best half.”
Kretzinger, Cropper, and other WesleyLife and Genesis Health leaders, team members, residents, clients, and partners will be on hand today and tomorrow in Davenport, DeWitt, and Silvis to celebrate WellSpire's first day. Follow WellSpire on Facebook to join the celebration!
