Happy National Nursing Assistants Week!
The note below was distributed by CEO Rob Kretzinger to all team members this morning.
Happy National Nursing Assistants Week to all our skilled and valued CNAs and aides.
As an organization, we appreciate you all year round — but following the last 16 months or so, we feel a special need to express our gratitude. During the pandemic, our CNAs and aides put their personal worries aside to provide skilled, compassionate care to those we serve. They sacrificed, and they will continue to do so.
You may have read in the past that I began my career as a CNA to help pay my college tuition, and also because I felt called to work with older adults. The community in Jefferson, Iowa, that gave me my start in senior living shaped me and continues to guide me today. I’m grateful when I think of my leaders there and of the residents, most of whom I still remember.
I also remember that my time as a CNA wasn’t easy, and I’m sure your job isn’t always a piece of cake, either. But I hope you know, as you care today for those who have placed their trust in us, that your efforts are also deeply appreciated by those you serve. I hear often from residents, clients, and family members about how thankful they are for a particular caregiver. That drives home the point that very often, our CNAs and aides are the faces of WesleyLife, helping to bring needed services, care, and comfort.
I wish I could thank all our CNAs and aides personally today. From the bottom of my heart as well as the hearts of all our leaders, please know how much you are appreciated.
