Gladys Bloodworth

Resident, Wesley Acres

Gladys was born in Pennsylvania. When she was 15, her family moved back to Iowa to be near family, and also to help keep Gladys healthy; she suffered from severe allergies.

After graduating from high school, Gladys took a job in downtown Des Moines.  She later left that career to become a youth counselor and a secretary at her church.

Gladys became a widow at 58, but found love again at 62!  She and her second husband moved to Georgia for a short time, then moved back to Iowa to be closer to family. After her second husband passed away, Gladys decided to move to Wesley Acres. It was a decision she has never regretted!

Gladys is very active at age 96, working in the community's Gather and Grab gift shop, capturing WesleyLife history, and assisting in the computer lab.
