2021 Celebrity Chef Gala

The 2021 Celebrity Chef Gala has been canceled, but the need remains.

In an abundance of caution regarding the continued spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19, WesleyLife has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Celebrity Chef Gala.

Although we are disappointed, our primary responsibility is helping to ensure the health and well-being of our clients, residents, team members, and guests, and we look forward to hosting next year’s event under healthier, safer circumstances for all.

Despite the cancellation, however, the need for increased financial support for WesleyLife Meals on Wheels continues.

As you know, in 2020, the demand for meals in Greater Des Moines increased exponentially — and that degree of need continues as we near the end of 2021. Chances are you know an older adult or a military veteran who is nutritionally vulnerable. Our participants are often proud and don’t want to obligate those closest to them.

So we’re asking for your financial support to help ensure that we can continue to provide our existing and potential participants with hot, healthy meals and well-being checks.

We also are in need of volunteers to help deliver Meals on Wheels. If you are free any day(s) Monday through Friday from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feel called to assist in this effort, you can sign up to volunteer here! WesleyLife is an IRS Section 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization and qualified to receive deductible charitable contributions. Charitable contributions are a donation or gift to and for the use of WesleyLife. It is voluntary and made without getting, or expecting to get, anything of equal value.
