Park Centre's volunteer program is an integral part of the retirement community's appeal. The intention of the program is to engage residents, their families, staff and the Newton community to serve a greater purpose.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Coffee Shop Attendant Enjoy a shift or two at Park Centre's retail shop - make coffee

Flexible days and hours sell cards and refreshments, and visit with residents.

Music Leader Play the piano, or lead a group singing hymns or

Flexible days and hours familiar songs.

Wellness Assistant Assist our Health Center Wellness Coordinator by

Flexible days and hours encouraging and coaching residents to increase their physical

wellness.

Reading Partner Read the newspaper to residents in the Health

Flexible days and hours Center, or read poetry in the library.

Transportation Provider Provide transportation to residents during outings,

Flexible days and hours such as shopping and day trips, or take Health Center residents

on wheelchair strolls around the Park Centre campus.

Bingo Buddy Assist with Bingo in our Health Center. It's a high

Flexible days and hours energy experience that's fun and competitive.

Baker Bring your baking skills and help Assisted Living

Flexible days and hours and Health Center residents with baking cookies and other

delectable treats.

Crafter Assist Health Center residents with projects such as

Flexible days and hours bead making, table decorations and scrapbooking.

Program Volunteer Gather your small group, organization or team

Flexible days and hours to provide a program for residents that engages them

physically, mentally and/or spiritually. Contact us with a

description of the activity and any materials needed.

Hospitality Helper Help with birthday parties, socials, special events,

Flexible days and hours game time and holiday parties.

Horticulture Helper Plant and maintain flowers around the grounds with

Flexible days and hours or without the assistance of residents.
