Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers at Heritage House are an important part of our community, engaging residents, families and staff in Atlantic and surrounding communities.

If you would like to volunteer at Heritage House please contact Beth Johnson. Below is a list of possible volunteer opportunities.

Friendly Visitor Resident visits. We will match you with

8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. a resident so you can develop a friendship;

Monday – Sunday read/write mail, learn about mutual interests,
share experiences and the news of the day.

Second-Hand Rose Shop Assist in a “department store” featuring previously

Mondays 1:30-3:00 pm owned merchandise. Help with pricing, stocking

Thursdays 9:30-10:30 am and selling.

Hospitality Help with birthday parties, socials, special

Flexible days and hours events and holiday parties.

Conversation & Coffee Serve tea, coffee and free ice cream to

Flexible days and hours residents and guests. Great social time for
visitors and Heritage House residents alike.

Gardening Indoor and outdoor flowers and vegetables,

Flexible days and hours primarily May to September.

Music Lead a group singing, play the piano or other

Flexible days and hours instrument. We always welcome weekly
singers/piano players for Thursday Vespers (4:00-5:00 pm).

Bingo Assist with Bingo held in the Recreation Room.

Wednesdays at 2:45 p.m.

Animal Assisted Therapy Make visits with your certified pet therapy dog. Dogs must be certified through TDI or Delta Society.

Bible Study Leader Lead Bible study group.
