Warner's Gift Right on Target

Kurt and Brenda Warner, through their The First Things First Foundation, recently made a generous gift to WesleyLife for the Polk County Meals on Wheels program. The gift allowed for the delivery of approximately 900 Thanksgiving meals, along with a personal note to each client.

"We are extremely grateful to Kurt and Brenda and The First Things First Foundation for supporting WesleyLife Meals on Wheels," says Rob Kretzinger, President and CEO of WesleyLife. "The Warner's quickly responded to the challenge because our outreach very much fits with their personal interests and mission."

Currently, WesleyLife Meals on Wheels serves nearly 1,300 clients in Greater Des Moines and delivers 265,000 meals annually. Approximately 80% of all meals served through the program are cost subsidized. WesleyLife bases fees for its home delivery service on an individual's income and does not turn anyone away because of an inability to pay.
