Volunteering is a vital part of the retirement community with the purpose of engaging residents, their families, staff and the Washington and surrounding communities. Join our volunteer family for the reward of a lifetime.

Friends Forever

8a.m. - 8p.m.
Monday - Sunday

Visit regularly with a resident. We will match you with a resident so you can develop a friendship; read/write mail, learn about mutual interests, share experiences and the news of the day.

Gift Shop
10 a.m. - 1p.m.
Bi-Monthly

Set up and categorize greeting cards for purchase.

Computer Training
Flexible days and hours

Assist residents with email, word processing, and internet.

Conversation & Coffee
9 - 10a.m
3p.m. - 4p.m.
Monday - Sunday & Holidays

Serve tea, coffee and free ice cream to residents and guests. Great social time for visitors and Halcyon House residents alike.

Green Thumb
Seasonal & flexible times

Outdoor grounds, flower gardens

Hospitality

Assist with socials, special events and holiday parties.

Music
Flexible days and hours

Lead a group singing, play the piano, or an instrument. You are always welcome!

Bingo
2:45 p.m.
Wednesdays

Assist with Bingo held in the Day Lounge.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Make visits with your certified pet therapy dog. Dogs must be certified through TDI or Delta Society.
