WESLEYLIFE ANNOUNCES PELLA LEADERSHIP TEAM
New directors will oversee Pella Manor, Fair Haven East and Jefferson Place
Des Moines, Iowa – (Dec. 29, 2009) – WesleyLife is pleased to announce that Nancy Hamilton, LaFonda Davidson and Kellie McGriff have joined WesleyLife’s leadership team in Pella. These three individuals will hold important roles in integrating services for older adults formerly administered by Pella Regional Health Center into WesleyLife.
Executive Director Nancy Hamilton brings several years of proven leadership experience in health care and social services to WesleyLife. She has served in a variety of roles in hospital, long term care and disability services in Illinois, North Dakota and Iowa. Most recently, she served as health care administrator of Friendship Village in Fort Dodge.
“A large contributing factor for my acceptance of the position was the fact that WesleyLife is such a fore-runner in the field,” Hamilton said. “They are always looking to the future at how to continually build on services to support the health and well-being of older adults. WesleyLife has great plans for how to improve services in Pella, and I’m excited to be a part of that development process.”
Hamilton and her husband, John, are in the process of looking for a home in Pella to accommodate their family of four boys – ages 13, 10, 6 and 1 – and Hamilton’s 87-year-old mother. Johnson said her family looks forward to starting their life in Pella and getting involved with church activities, music lessons and sports for the kids.
The community of Pella is close to Human Resources Director LaFonda Davidson’s heart. The Central College graduate has called Pella her home for most of her life. She and her husband, Chris, and their 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter are active in the community and enjoy spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, gardening and spending time at their farm in Brooklyn, Iowa.
Most recently, Davidson served Pella Regional Health Center as Hospice of Pella’s volunteer coordinator. During her nine-year span with PRHC, she worked in various roles including human resources, benefits and recruitment. Davidson said she loves working in health and wellness because of its many opportunities to have a positive impact in the lives of others and she is looking forward to being part of carrying WesleyLife’s mission for Christian, compassionate care into the community of Pella.
Director of Nursing Kellie McGriff brings a unique blend of health care experience to WesleyLife that extends beyond nursing to also include administration, marketing and sales. Most recently, she served as administrator of a health care center in North Carolina.
McGriff, her husband Brett, and two sons (ages 15 and 7), reside in Grinnell. They are active members in the Grinnell Christian Church. McGriff said she enjoys spending her free time with her family and watching her sons participate in football, basketball, track and golf.
Hamilton, Davidson and McGriff join a strong team of leaders who transitioned from Pella Regional Hospital to WesleyLife on January 1st. The leadership team includes; Dot Beason, Director of WesleyLife Home Care; Byron Van Ee , Director of Building and Grounds; Kim Musgrove, Office Manager; Karol Watson, MDS Coordinator; Julie Richardson, Food Service Director; Connie Boat, Activities Coordinator and Diana Kroes, Wellness Coordinator.
On Sept. 11, 2009, Des Moines-based WesleyLife announced an acquisition agreement with Pella Regional Health Center for a portion of the elder care services within its family of services. As of Jan. 1, 2010, Pella Manor, Fairhaven East and Jefferson Place became owned and managed by WesleyLife. This partnership between PRHC and WesleyLife was forged after a nationwide search in 2009.
